Realtors, when's the best time to send a gift?

Think about your own real estate business. When do you tend to receive a gift from a client, supplier, employer, or colleague question Christmas, right? Would it shock you to know that Christmas is not the best time to send a gift? It might seem odd, especially given how much I love Christmas. But here's what I mean; I'm a firm believer that you get the best response from people when you gift them at an expected time.

A great way to send gifts is when your clients least expected; Valentine's Day, memorial day, Canada Day, and Labor Day. By doing this, we cut into any sense of entitlement because the gift never becomes an expectation. It's always a surprise, and it always makes an impact.

So here's a good example of what I'm talking about. If I tell you that I'm going to bring you pizza for dinner next Tuesday, already in your mind you're thinking, new quote it better not be dominoes. I hate Domino's Pizza so if it's from dominoes I might not like it. And I'm a vegetarian so I hope he does not meet on it that would be awkward." Before it's even happened, you've already outlined in your mind set of expectations, because the pizza is no longer a surprise but an obligation.

Now this picture a totally different story what if I showed up your house unexpectedly with a couple pizzas sixpack of beer on a random Wednesday. You'd be overjoyed? You'd welcome me and saying to me like "wow I did not want to cook tonight. I don't care what's on the pizza. I'm so glad you brought something over. And you know what? I hate that kind of beer but I would love to have a beer right now."

So instead of stressing out at Christmas time and giving a gift like everybody else does, surprise your clients, knock on their door on a random Wednesday with a  painting of their home as a thank you gift. Imagine the shock and surprise your clients would have when they receive this beautiful painting from you for no apparent reason! That is how you build deeper relationships with your clients. So if you're looking for a wonderful gift to give to your clients a painting of their home is exactly that.

Enjoy the painting.
