 Realtors, let's talk a moment about the power of reciprocity. Cornell University study found that customers who are given a small piece of chocolate along with their check to more than those that hadn't been given any. It also found that TIPS would vary depending on not only the amount of candy a customer received, but the manner in which it was offered to them. Based on those findings, they concluded that it was most likely the desire to reciprocate a kind gesture and in turn inspired a bigger tip.

So what does this mean to you? When you're done the transaction with your client and you turn to them and you give them a cheap bottle of wine as a thank you gift, how do you think your clients would want to reciprocate to you? Or at the end of the transaction you thank them with a beautiful heartfelt painting of their home, a gift they will treasure for decades, how do you think they will receive a gate to you when it's their turn to give.
