The Art of the Perfect Closing Gift

the art of giving a good gift

The deal is done, your clients love you. Now it's time for the closing gift.

This article will help you with that seemingly impossible job; finding the perfect closing gift for your clients.

My story

I've personally been on the receiving end of this equation, I used to flip houses for a living, putting my blood, sweat and tears into each house. Then with my Realtor at my side I would put it on the market. The sale would go through and I would sigh a huge sigh of relief. Sign the documents, deal with legal, the finances and everything else that is involved.

Then at the final completion of the deal, my Realtor would turn to me and with a big congratulations present me with a bouqet of flowers, or pizza and beer, or a gift basket filled with things I would never purchase. And every time, I felt deflated and actually quite upset. Selling or buying these houses would be a huge part of my life and I got pizza as a gift.

Out of sight, out of mind.

So I would eat the pizza, or drink that bottle of wine, or put those flowers on my table.

And within a few days it was gone, out of sight, to be totally forgotten. I had no reminder of my Realtor except for an empty vase.

Then a few months later, when I was looking for my next house to buy, I would meet a a bottle of wine a a closing giftnew Realtor at a dinner party, someone shinny and new. And can you guess who I would use as my Realtor for this next transaction? The Realtor that gave me the bottle of long forgotten wine, or this shinny new Realtor. That's right, the new Realtor.

A Heartfelt gift

What would I of rather of received from my Realtor? A gift that said to me, I know how much you love your house, how important that was to you. And that is how I developed our House Portraits. As a way to help create a connection.

And as that portrait hangs on your clients wall it will keep you top of mind, reminding your clients how important they are to you.

Long after those flowers have wilted, that wine has been recycled, the pizza is eaten and the gift cards spent, your portrait will continue to hang on your clients wall.

One of our customers put it perfectly;

"My portrait of my home is a gift far beyond sentimentality, it is quite simply, priceless to me."   - Deb Wardle, homeowner

Here are just a few of the hundreds of glowing testimonials that we have received;

 "Russell, I just wanted to email you and let you know that we presented your House Portrait to our client and she was blown away...she loved her painting so much that she took a picture of it and changed her Facebook profile picture to her painting pic!!!

She has sent us TWO notes telling us how touched she was by the painting, that it is perfect and that it is one of the nicest gifts anyone has ever given her. If you knew this lady...she is a tough cookie and her painting just melted her heart. SO GREAT!!!!   "
